The 1890 Legacy Society
The 1890 Legacy Society recognizes and celebrates planned giving and includes those living members who have remembered the church in their estate planning. It is named for the year our church received its charter from the Presbytery of Chicago and is a testament to our proud history and the giving of those who preceded us, just as our gifts will benefit generations yet to come.
Making a planned gift is not just for those who have wealth or special financial expertise, but for anyone with a generous spirit who wishes to leave a financial gift to the church when granted eternal peace.
There are multiple ways to remember the church in your affairs:
Beneficiary in a Will or Trust Document
As one of the beneficiaries, the church would receive assets as established in the language of the documents.
Beneficiary on a Financial Account
This can be a percentage of an investment account, IRA, life insurance policy, etc.
Successor on a Donor-Advised Fund
The successor becomes the new account owner upon your passing.
The Charity would receive the remaining balance in the trust after living beneficiaries passing.
Designated Charity for a Charitable Remainder Trust
To add your name to the 1890 Legacy Society, email Church Accountant Rick Foulke with a description of your gift intention and how it is recorded in your affairs. If you prefer, you may ask to be listed anonymously. Since the timing of the actual gift may be far in the future, this is only an expression of intention.
